Welcome

Hey sweet friend, I’m Jess

I’m an American girl, born + bred in Hershey, Pennsylvania. But in my 20’s, I left my life + moved to East Africa where I just so happened to fall in love with a British man. (It’s the accent!) We moved to London together in 2017 + somehow over the last years have built a beautiful, new life together + I became a mama to the sweetest, quirkiest little girl.

I’m passionate about real, whole food + making it easy to cook. (But I also can’t enjoy life without sea salt caramel chocolate.) I’m living with endometriosis + care oh so much about period education + helping women love their bodies to life so we can be the people, the friends, the mamas, we dream of being. I’m also a little obsessed with research + will still choose yoga pants as real clothes most days. I’m somehow very much in the “figuring it out” stage of life, but I also know just who I am . Welcome to the messy middle, friend. I hope you’ll stick around!

Where this all began

I started sharing recipes online in 2019. I was newly married (ish) + still hadn’t found my feet (or friends) in my new home country. I was struggling with the same chronic health issues that had plagued me for years, but I was determined to figure out how to feel better.

I started with food + I overhauled my diet. I shared the allergen friendly recipes I was creating + people started following along. A year or so later, I was diagnosed with endometriosis + my focus shifted. I started digging into the disease + trying every thing I could to love myself back to health. (I’d tried the opposite + learned quickly that you can’t heal a body you hate, you know?)

By the end of 2020, I was feeling better than I had in a decade. I started sharing the framework I used to heal MY body – using lots of grace + unique to me data, not just what a textbook told me. And then I helped other women do it too.

In 2021, my husband + I got the shock of a lifetime when we found out I was pregnant with our first babe at 33. Life from there has shifted again + I now find myself a stay at home, work from home mom sharing a mix of all 3 things: real food, holistic health + messy, magical motherhood.

You’ll find my experiences along with all kinds of tips, tricks and resources here to dig in deep, embrace where you are + build a life you love.
