But friends, trust ME. You need this.

Ingredients in this Paleo Pumpkin Spice Syrup
This isn’t really a recipe. I mean, it is, but it’s not. It’s four freaking ingredients + you basically stir them together. The microwave does the cooking, which is just the icing on the cake. From start to pumpkin spice latte, it takes less than 5 minutes.
Here’s what you need to enjoy this fall time wonder:
- water: yep, this is an ingredient, ha!
- maple syrup: you could totally use honey too, but I think maple syrup is what gives this such an authentic PSL taste. It also keep this recipe refined sugar free.
- pumpkin puree: this is the stuff you grab in a can that is JUST pure pumpkin. You can use the leftovers to make this Pumpkin Spice Baked Oatmeal or these awesome Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins.
- pumpkin pie spice: you can snag this at almost any store, but you can also totally make it at home if you need to OR swap for straight cinnamon, which will make it less traditional, but still good.
That is seriously it. Like, what?! How do those few things make something so divine? It’s some sort of seasonal sorcery, but I am HERE for it.
How to put this together
If you thought the ingredient list was sparse, the actual steps involved in putting this together is EVEN SHORTER. I know. It’s so great. I mean you could even do this in a groggy, early morning, “I need pumpkin spice coffee” state and have great success.
Here’s how we do it:
- Measure out your ingredients into a microwave safe bowl.
- Stir them together.
- Microwave for 2-2.5 minutes.
- Cool, store in the fridge + all to coffee as your heart desires.
I know that you’re wondering if that’s really it + yes, ma’am. That’s freaking it + it’s deliciously fabulous.
There are ZERO “I can’t cook” excuses to not try this paleo pumpkin spice syrup recipe. Your microwave does all of the heavy lifting!
Using + storing the syrup
To take this from syrup to latte, here’s what I do:
- Make a cup of coffee, as strong as you like it. Or, a little espresso. Either one works!
- Add 1 tablespoon (or 2 or 3, whatever you want!) to said coffee or espresso.
- Top off the entire thing with a big ole glug of your fav milk. Now guys, IF YOU CAN, steam this milk, add some froth. That froth on top is what gives it that delicious latte feel. If you can’t, no worries, but I would for sure heat the milk.
- That’s it! Enjoy!
To store this syrup, I just put it into a glass jar, like a mason jar, and keep it I the fridge. Each morning, I grab it out and add my serving to my coffee. I know that it will keep for at least 16 days, since that’s how long it takes me to use it, but I imagine that it would actually keep for closer to a month in the fridge.
FRIENDS: I know I say this all of the time, but seriously. You just have to try this. Even if you aren’t a coffee person, it goes so well in oatmeal, on top of yogurt or even drizzled all over pancakes. Can you even imagine?!
