Some sweet moments from this weekend. While we wait to introduce oral feeds and breastmilk (bub isn’t quite ready yet), we’re just getting to cuddle and love him like a normal baby. And after nearly a month of not being able to hold him at all, we’re both soaking it up ❤️

Benji is OFF breathing supporting of any kind! He is breathing like a completely normal, healthy baby. Less than 2 weeks ago he was ventilated! Praise the freaking Lord.

6 weeks after Benji was born and we can finally see his sweet little face 🥹 BYE CPAP!

Remember how Benji came off the ventilator on Friday? Color us shocked, but less than 3 days later he was completely off NAVA + is killing it on CPAP! They’ve been weaning him down so fast because he’s been maintaining his oxygen like a freaking champ. There’s a chance he’ll be moved to high flow tomorrow 🙌🏻 We feel like we can barely keep up, ha!

Well look at that, friends, Benji is ventilator free 😭

You GUYS - Benji is chest drain free. You read that right, NO MORE DRAINS 😭😭😭 Benji has stopped draining any fluid over the last 48 hours, which is WILD.

Benji’s face says it ALL! Friends, we’re trying not to get too far ahead of ourselves, but we’ve had the best days we’ve had since Benji was born over the last weekend. We’re finally seeing his fluid outputs come DOWN 😭

That moment when you finally hold your son after 26 days 🥹

Oh friends, this little boy. He is just the sweetest, softest, most squishy strawberry haired nugget who I can’t wait to snuggle.

Benji was 3 weeks old yesterday, which is just wild. Because we almost can’t remember what life felt like before he was here + also can’t believe it’s already been 22 days of sitting in the NICU.

Sweet, sweet Benji is hanging in there, guys. And so are we, most of the time 😅
