I’m not one to wish away summer. Honestly, the sunshine, flowers + perchant for iced coffee make me oh so happy.

And yet, fall is on the way.

The days are already getting slightly shorter here, the nights slightly cooler. Kids are prepping to go back to school + I’m prepping all of the oversized sweaters + ankle boots.

Real, Simple Ingredients

This recipe couldn’t be any simpler. It’s made with only a handful of pantry staple ingredients (minus the salmon), and every single one of them is pronounceable + recognisable.

Salt + Pepper

Honey

Mustard

Ghee (or butter)

That’s it.

That, plus the salmon. Simple + easy, just how we like it!

Putting It Together

All you need to cook this salmon is ONE PAN.

First, season your salmon with salt + pepper. Simple, easy.

Then, in a small dish, stir together all of the other ingredients: mustard, honey, ghee. Super quick.

Lastly, pour the sauce over the salmon and stick the entire thing into the oven. That’s it!

After 15 (or so) minutes, you’ll be left with tender, flaky, moist, tangy, sweet salmon that will satisfy all of your mealtime needs. Tasty + filling + ALL REAL FOOD.

Making Your Paleo Honey Mustard Salmon into a Meal

My favourite way to serve this salmon is just as simple as the Paleo Honey Mustard Salmon recipe itself. This baby can stand alone!

To make dinner as easy as possible, I throw some broccoli right into the pan with salmon. Drizzle a little of the extra sauce on top + roast it all together. Easy peasy. You can serve it with some rice, potatoes or cauliflower rice to bulk it up.

My other favourite way to eat this salmon? On top of the Best Salad Ever. It’s SO GOOD.

Game to put in a little extra effort? Maybe have company coming over? This Paleo Honey Mustard Salmon is INCREDIBLE with these Paleo Salt + Vinegar Potatoes. Magical, truly magical.

Paleo Whole30 Honey Mustard Salmon

If you aren’t a family of 4, this salmon dish is PERFECT for meal prep. I’ve made it at the start of the week + eaten if for lunch for the next few days. It even freezes beautifully. It reheats + stays moist, but is also lovely cold on top of a salad.

If you need a quick, flavourful, healthful meal on a school night, or on a summer night, I seriously encourage you to give this one a try.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound salmon (1 large fillet or 4 small ones)
  • 1 tbsp melted ghee, butter or coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp wholegrain or dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp honey (can be substituted for maple syrup or see notes for a Whole30 compliant option)

  • Lay the salmon onto the prepared baking sheet + season with salt and pepper.
  • Mix the mustard, ghee and honey in a small bowl. Pour over the salmon, ensuring it is completely covered.
  • Bake the salmon for 12-17 minutes or until the fish is firm to the touch.

Notes

To make this dish Whole30, simply remove the honey + instead blend the mustard, ghee and 3 softened medjool dates in a food processor until smooth. Add an extra tablespoon of melted ghee if necessary for blending.
